EATON RAPIDS - The two small homes built in early 2020 off Haven Street sit side by side taking up less than a quarter of the acre that is Eaton Village. 

By the end of last year, developer Brent Forsberg's company T.A. Forsberg had plans to surround them with 10 additional "smart tembo" homes, each 720 to 1,100 square feet.

Forsberg's concept, the "Tembo" house, had become a reality three years ago with the construction of one 600-square-foot home in the REO Town neighborhood in Lansing.

From an abandoned trailer mess to an area full of smart homes called Tembo. A plot of land in an Eaton Rapids Neighborhood is under construction and getting a huge makeover. In May, Eaton Village received unanimous approval from the city council.
